Obesity is a health disorder growing alarmingly, while smoking is particularly a chronic health problem. But both of these bring about the worst health risks that today’s world is facing and finding it extremely difficult to tackle or control. Obesity is declared as the biggest public health threat in today’s age and the disorder is growing in multiple proportions. Especially in the western countries like U.S. and Canada, health risk posed by smoking and obesity is an extremely difficult health condition to control with around 30 per cent of the population being obese and unfit. The health expenditure in these countries is a serious issue which adds to other problems. So far as obesity and health is concerned, child obesity is the most common problem with the present generation. Obese smokers have been found to be prone to suffer from diseases like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure and many including the reduction of life expectancy. While the problems related with the smoking are lung cancer, heart disease, cardiovascular diseases, fertility problems and more. The conclusion made from the health hazards resulting from smoking and obesity is that both pose the biggest threat to health and the well being of mankind today.
